Chairman and Non-executive Director
John Polden is a Partner in MTI who deals with investments in
electronics and IT companies. He joined MTI in 1990 having gained
15 years experience as general manager and CEO of a number of
UK electronics companies.
During his time with MTI, John has led a number of successful
investments including TransEDA (EDA tools), Dynamic Logic (telemetry
products) and AFP Holdings (output management software). He
has been a speaker at several conferences and symposia.
John has an electronic engineering degree from the University
of Southampton. After early experience in digital electronic
design with the UK Ministry of Defence he gained an MBA from
the London Business School.
In his little spare time, John spends his time sailing and rambling.

Brent is a seasoned general manager in the EDA industry having
previously held various VP roles in Cadence, eventually becoming
a member of the senior management Board reporting directly to
the CEO. Brent was also President of Tality, a design services
and IP company with revenues of $200m. He has worked in the
high tech sector for 15 years and has extensive M&A experience
as well as being a member of the senior management team on three
IPO programmes. He also has considerable international experience,
having resided in California for 3 years and having sold to
global tier one electronics customers in Asia, Europe and the
US.
