Development Engineer

Role Mandate
As a Product Development Engineer you are responsible for
the development of EDA tools, Generators and Utilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging software
products, generators and utilities including :
- Requirements capturing and specification writing
- Software design and coding
- Test specification, test development and test execution
- Software reviews & independent audit
- Documentation
- Product test & verification for tools, generators
and utilities
Requirements of the position
- Able to solicit requirements and gather feedback
from other engineers and produce detailed functional specifications.
- An appreciation of end user requirements and demands
- An attention to detail and consideration of product
quality
- Good communication, team working skills
- Ability to work independently, create and meet schedules.
- Use of flexibility, ingenuity and pragmatism to meet
commitments
- Strong problem solving skills
- Awareness of applicable new technologies
- Interest and understanding of hardware and software
design methodologies
- Full time post based in Plymouth.
Experience
- Relevant degree qualification
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the electronics
industry, ideally as a system implementer.
- Skilled in two or more of the following languages:
SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL, SystemC, Vera, PSL, e
- Knowledge of other industry standard languages :
Java, Perl, C, XML
- Knowledgeable of industry standard bus systems including
AMBA, AXI, OCP, VCI
- Desirable to have an understanding of SPIRIT
